Sodium chlorite is an efficient, mild strong oxidising agent used for bleaching, sterilisation, deodorisation and oxidation. Gaoyuan is the largest producer and exporter of sodium chlorite in China, and organised and compiled the HG/T 3250-2023 industry standard the product is made to.
Solid: white or slightly yellowish crystalline powder. Liquid: pale yellow alkaline aqueous solution.

Activated by acid, sodium chlorite generates high-purity chlorine dioxide. High disinfection efficiency with minimal disinfection by-products makes it standard practice in municipal waterworks. Our product is listed on the official US inventory of drinking water treatment chemicals.
Minimal fibre damage with mild, long-lasting bleaching. In pulp bleaching it replaces chlorine-containing bleaches, which is how paper mills move to an environmentally upgraded process.
Chlorine dioxide gas diffuses and penetrates well, reaching crevices and dead spaces inside equipment, and is low in corrosiveness to medical devices. Chlorite-loaded nanofibres release ClO₂ below pH 7 and have self-disinfection potential.
Used for sterilisation and fresh-keeping. Applications in this field must comply strictly with food-grade standards — tell us the end use and we will confirm the grade.
Acts as a strong oxidant, converting insoluble nitric oxide into soluble higher-valence nitrogen oxides such as NO₂, which the desulfurisation system then removes efficiently.
