Quality & certification

A certificate is only useful if it covers your market.

NSF applies in North America. REACH applies in the EU. A Chinese industry standard applies to the material, not to your import paperwork. We will tell you plainly which of ours does what.

Standards we work to

HG/T 3250-2023

ISO 9001

ISO 14001

ISO 45001

Certificates are issued per grade and per market. Ask for the one that applies to your order.

Certification

What we hold, and what it covers.

Certificate numbers are printed below so you can verify them with the issuing body rather than take a thumbnail on our word. Full copies are sent on request once we know your destination market and end use.

CredentialReferenceValidWhat it covers
NSF
NSF drinking water listing
——Listed on the official inventory of drinking water treatment chemicals in the United States, under NSF International.
REACH
EU REACH registration
——Sodium chlorite (CAS 7758-19-2) registered for the European market.
HG/T 3250
Industrial sodium chlorite standard
HG/T 3250-2023—Gaoyuan organised and compiled the HG/T 3250-2023 industry standard, after taking part in drafting the 2010 revision.
ISO 9001
Quality management

ISO 14001
Environmental management

ISO 45001
Occupational health and safety
10423S01149R0M13 Oct 2023 – 12 Oct 2026GB/T 45001-2020 / ISO 45001:2018, alongside the national Safety Production Licence.

The three ISO certificates are issued by Shandong Seatone International Certification Co., Ltd.and are CNAS accredited. Their certified scope reads: “Production of sodium chlorite (solid, liquid), sodium bisulfate (within the scope of the permit)”. Sodium bisulfate appears in that scope but is no longer part of our supply range — ask us and we will say so plainly rather than let the certificate imply otherwise.

Process control

Three certified systems, audited by outside bodies.

A certificate names a facility and a scope. All three below are issued to the Gaomi plant itself — ask us for the copies and check the scope against your requirement.

  1. 01

    ISO 9001 — quality

A certified quality management system covering the production process. The certificate is issued to this facility, not to a group head office.

  2. 02

    ISO 14001 — environmental

Environmental management system covering emissions, effluent and waste handling at the Gaomi plant.

  3. 03

ISO 45001 — health and safety

Occupational health and safety management system, alongside the national Safety Production Licence required to manufacture this product class in China.

  4. 04

    Independently audited

Gaoyuan holds an Audited Supplier assessment carried out by SGS. Third-party pre-shipment inspection can be arranged on request.

Testing

Every batch has a number, and the number has a report.

Assay, chlorate, chloride, moisture and water-insoluble content are the parameters that decide whether a lot of sodium chlorite is fit for your process. Limits follow HG/T 3250-2023 and the grade ordered.

We send the specification sheet for the grade quoted and the certificate of analysis for the lot shipped. If a parameter matters to your process and is not on the standard sheet, tell us and we will confirm whether we can report it.

Straight answers

Three things buyers should always ask a chemical supplier.

If a supplier cannot answer these three quickly, the certificate on their website is not doing the work you think it is.

01

Which grade does this certificate cover?

A certificate names a grade and a use. An NSF drinking water listing does not make a material food-grade, and an industrial grade certificate says nothing about potable use. Ask which grade the document is tied to.

02

Does it cover my market?

NSF matters in North America, REACH in the EU. Neither transfers. Tell your supplier the destination country before they send paperwork, or you will get the wrong file.

03

What is on the batch COA, not the brochure?

A specification sheet is a promise; a certificate of analysis is a measurement of the batch you are buying. Always ask for the COA of the actual lot.

Documentation request

Tell us the market and the end use.

We will send the certificates that apply, the specification sheet for the grade, and a note on anything the documents do not cover.
